Obituary of Stephen George Donison

Please share a memory of Stephen to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It is with profound sadness that our brother, friend, father, son, uncle, grandpa and loyal partner has passed away suddenly in Regina on Sunday, November 17, 2024.

Predeceased by his parents George and Alison; sister Norma-Jean; nephews Bobby Lane and Cory Manz; and nieces Jo-Ann Manz and Geneva (Gazda) Heglin.

Steve leaves behind to mourn his life partner Kathy Lafaber; son Calah Schmidt; grandson Randen; brother Jeff (Geri); sisters Betty-Ann (Norm), Rose and Georgie (Doug); nieces and nephews Sherri Lane, Greg Manz (Anna) and Levon Gazda (Crystal).

Steve attended Balfour Collegiate, starred on the football team and later played for the Regina Rams. A sports enthusiast, he enjoyed College and NFL football and hockey.

Anyone that knew Steve understood he could show up at any time and was always willing to give a helping hand. His expertise as a demolition man made quick work of any undesired structure. His love of music, antiques and collectibles kept him on the hunt and on the roads all over Saskatchewan. He also loved summer outdoor cycling. His sense of humour, quick wit and contagious laugh was always the center of any gathering. Steve always put everyone else first and his generosity was second to none.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 7, 2024 at Paragon Funeral Services, 521 Victoria Ave., Regina, SK. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your favourite charity in Stephen’s memory.
