Dora Tina Goebel October 03, 1936 - March 21, 2023

On Tuesday, March 21, 2023, Dora Tina Goebel (nee Funk) passed away peacefully in the Palliative Care Unit of Pasqua Hospital at the age of 87, after a brief battle with cancer.

Dora was born in Carrot River, SK into a family of 11 children. She grew up and attended school in Herbert, SK. At the age of 15, Dora left home and took a job as a nanny for a farm family in Lipton, SK. From there she moved to Katepwa, SK and worked at the Resort. While working there, Dora met John, her husband to be. John and Dora were married on October 24, 1952. They made their home on the family farm where they raised their five children: Randy, Marilyn, Donald, David and Leon.

Dora was kept very busy gardening, raising chickens, pigs, and milking cows. She was determined to get her driver’s license, so Dora would practice on the back roads whenever she had a chance. Once the children grew up Dora and John enjoyed going on road trips and to dances.

In 1983, they made the move to Regina. A few years later, Dora joined the work force and found employment at the Martin Luther Care Home as well as a couple of private care homes. She found great enjoyment caring for the seniors and hearing their stories. After moving to Regina her determination paid off and she got her driver’s license.

Dora was predeceased by her husband John; parents John and Katherine (nee Dyck) Funk; brothers Henry and Eddie; and sisters Helen, Sue, Mary and Elizabeth.

Dora leaves to mourn her passing, her children Randy, Marilyn (Barry), Donald (Deborah), David (Dianne) and Leon (Alison); grandchildren Dawn (Kory), Christa, Candace (Don), Cathryn (Robert), Tyler (Andrea), Courtney (Devon), Callie (Dan), Tyson, Kyle (Kayla), Heidi (Sean), Dylon, Paige, Whitney and April; great-grandchildren Falon, Kruz, John (Katelyn), Madison, Sharanne, Kayden, Scott, Emma, Zoe, Sophia, Olivia, Everleigh, William, Roslyn, Mack, Austin, Blaire, Reese, Bohdan, Bronson, Jack, Berlyn, Riley, McKinley and Tina; great-great-grandchild McKinley; brothers Delmer (Delores), Dan (Millie) and Dave (Dianne); sister Ruth; brother-in-law Ron; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

A Private Graveside Service will be held at later date.
