Hi. It's sister Kim again. I just wanted to give a bit of info on the pictures I added after I had entered my memory. They are all pictures of Ken at various ages and with Ken's siblings, parents and other family members.

I just typed out my special memories here and Chrome crashed on me and it all disappeared. Of course my mind is blank now. So frustrating. I miss him and as I was looking back and sharing my thoughts of him, I realized how much of an impact he made in my life and many others. He was there at some key points in my life and probably never knew how much he influenced me and how he helped me navigate through some very important times. He was many things to many people and made significant contributions through his career. He had a good sense of humour and was very intelligent and was willing to teach if I had questions. I miss him everyday and catch myself thinking of calling him. I'm grateful to have had him as my big brother. I'm proud of who he was and his continuing legacy, especially as a husband, father and grandfather. He is loved and remembered and greatly missed and I'll be grateful when the time comes when it isn't so painful to think of him. He'll always hold a special place in my heart. Love you Big Bro.❤

Memories of Ken
As Ron has said, we have so many memories of Ken from the Round and Square dance scene. One of mine comes from being the partner of a Round dance Cuer. This often results in being a wallflower or dancing solo but Ken never allowed this to happen. He would often dance with me, especially when Elaine needed a break for her knees. He had a strong lead and great dancing style. Thank you Ken.

We shared a love of dancing with Ken and Elaine. We rode with them to dance events in Estevan and Swan River. Ken was always very supportive of both round and square dancing in Regina. He was always pushing the envelope to improve the dance experience. A couple of days after a dance, he would phone with ideas and suggestions. Ken was a critical element in the revival of the Whitmore Square Dance Club in Regina. The club just about died after the retirement of its caller but Ken and others pushed to make changes that not only saved the club but led to its current thriving status. Ken spearheaded the programming over the last number of years to make use of recorded calls, to develop a plus training program and to ensure that all recorded materials used were legal or used with permission. Ken's technical know-how also led to the club being able to dance to a caller from California over Zoom. During Covid, he offered his driveway for square and sometimes round dancing just to keep the activity going. We will miss his enthusiasm and driving presence.
Ken and I also shared our love of music occasionally with jam sessions at his home or at dance events.
Finally we will miss him as a friend of almost 20 years. His idea of heaven is probably a hardwood floor with dance music playing - may it be so!

First met Ken in 1959 in Edmonton. We became close friends together with Bob Hansen, Dennis (Dino) Connelly (RIP), Dave Netterville and myself. Although we all married and drifted apart, we all remained friends to this day. RIP brother til we meet again. Condolences to family and friends. We have lost a one of a kind guy.

Deeply saddened by the loss but grateful he's with his brothers now with no pain or suffering. He's standing up there waiting for auntie Elaine so they can continue dancing for eternity!
A few specific memories I have with Uncle Ken were such funny silly playful ones! Which is kind of a funny descriptions of Uncle Ken, well to a point anyway, as he was kind of a serious man but he definitely had a quirky fun side to him! Kid at heart for sure just hidden well!
One of my my fondest memories started when we were all together for a family event at the farm, playing Christmas bingo! (Pretty sure it was summer but it's always called Christmas bingo) so if you don't know what Christmas bingo is; we set a timer, A LOT of presents wrapped in the middle (every family bring at least one for every member) then every time someone gets a bingo they can either unwrap a new present or steal a present that's already been in play.
So there was this golf ball set ice tray, that popped up. I don't quite remember if I was the original one to get it or not but I like to remember the story that I was.
Sure enough I got excited that I got this cool different shape ice cube tray (don't ask lol)
Uncle Ken had other ideas and he wanted it too. So when he got his next bingo, he stole it!!
Then when I got bingo stuck my tough out probably and stole it back, needless to say that went on for a while. But then I remember a cassette coming up I really wanted and I changed tactics and ended up going for that.
The end was near, when I saw the timer was coming close to an end and the cassette was in the family already (meaning my mom had "won" it back, which really means she probably stole it from one of my cousins hahaha)
I won a bingo!!! I stole that ice tray back from him!! Time sings! I won!
I knew he was joking about being super upset and hurt that he didn't win or that I stole it. So I tired to give it to him! Like really tried!
Now I don't want to take credit for this because I can't quite remember whose idea it was. But the idea came to hide it in his car, because he refused to take it from me.
So I got the keys from Auntie and I hid the tray in the vehicle. Sadly my hiding skills were not good enough and his were because when he went to load up when all the events were over, he found them. And he did the same thing back snuck it into our stuff.
When we got home of course it was discovered. ( I think my parents knew it was there before hand)
Now it was on!
And because we lived in different provinces we didn't see each other often. But when we did that golf ice cube set exchanged hands and more hidden or snuck into the other person's possession.
To be truthful, I'm not 100% sure where that golf ball set went. But the memories are with me forever!!
And the joy It brings!!
Another quick memory was when we took a road trip out to Saskatchewan and they were taking us sightseeing and there was this pig statue festival or something going on. If you didn't know me then, I was completely obsessed with pigs, they were my favorite animal.
So they took me on a tour to go and take pictures of all the different pig statues that were around town! Tt was so cool to go on the scavenger hunt!
To top the adventure off, quite a few months later auntie sent me this really cute pig mobile and pictures from the adventure. I'll never forget it! The pigs were all painted differently, much taller than me,
Oooh and having to get out at the corner, running out of the car, to quickly take a picture of the pig and then running and jumping back in before uncle Ken drove off hahaha! So awesome!!
Uncle Ken you will be forever missed and forever loved!! I'm sorry for your loss everyone!!! Love peace and strength!!
Love Amanda Brownlow (Laurie's youngest)

Donna and I had a lot of great times square and round dancing with Ken and Elaine. Even during the pandemic we were either dancing in the " "Garage Mahal" or on his driveway.
Those were some of the most wonderful evening!
We are going to truly miss our DJ "Kenny G" at our Whitmore Square Dance Club.
