Greg Selinger
1963 - 2022

There are those who come and go in life without leaving a mark. Then there are people like Greg who make an impact on every person they encounter.

Greg loved life and everything he did, he did BIG.

In 1987, he came to know Jesus as his Lord and Saviour. Greg’s relationship with Jesus was first and foremost in his life. It was the basis for the way he lived life and the way he treated others.

Greg was a skilled tradesman who prided himself on doing the job right, but his greatest passion was to teach and mentor others. He had many apprentices that are now thriving in their trade because he built into their lives.

In 2013, Greg had the opportunity to combine his greatest passion of serving Jesus with his desire to mentor young, eager minds in the trades in Uganda, Africa. He quickly became a leader, a father, a friend and a mentor as the Facilities Team manager. Part of his heart always remained in Uganda, and he looked forward to his yearly trips back to continue to teach, to deepen relationships and meet new team members. He always said, “It isn’t about the work. It is about the people.”

Next to Jesus, Greg’s greatest relationships were with his family. He always referred to his wife, Lorenda, as his queen and treated her as such. Greg was so proud of his children Courtney (Cam), Charissa (Justin) and Carlen (Amy). He was not a standby parent or a helicopter parent, he was “full on” hands on- whether they wanted it or not!

Greg had no idea there could be a greater joy than being a parent, until he got the role of Pop to eight amazing grandchildren Ashton, Hayden, Judah, Jonah, Avery, Evelyn, Oliver and Charlie. Not one of them have ever had to wonder how much he loved them, he said it and showed it every opportunity he had.
