Gerald Manley Kemp

“Jerry”

March 23, 1940 - November 2, 2022

Sadly, Jerry passed away unexpectedly at home on Wednesday, November 2, 2022, of natural causes.

Jerry proudly worked as a self-employed painter. He was also employed at the University of Regina through to his retirement. In his retirement, Jerry seldom sat still. He was constantly working in his ‘workshop’. True to his giving nature, if Jerry made one item, he usually made one for everyone in the family.

Jerry married the love of his life, Gayle, in 1960. Together, they raised four wonderful children. He was a devoted father who worked tirelessly to provide for his children. Jerry and Gayle went through all of life’s adventures together, hand in hand, adoring their large family. Jerry thoroughly enjoyed entertaining family and friends with his stories and (the usual) ribbing. He had the heartiest laugh that easily filled the room. We will dearly miss our coffee and conversations with our dad, grandpa, brother, uncle and friend.

While our family is mourning, we take comfort in knowing that our mom and dad are together again. We will forever miss our special people.

Jerry is survived by his loving children, Tammy (Dwayne) Hoffman, Ken (Leslie) Kemp, Cindy Kemp and Shannon (Don) Kemp. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; Michael (Melissa) - Lynessa (Ahmat), Darius, Madilynn and Ethan; Crystal (Alvis) - Ava, Mia, Ella and Ilya; Ryan (Andrea); Todd (Jill) - Isaac and Max; Riley (Colin) - Ben and Taylor; Ty; Alex (Kaila); Ashley (Ali); Natasha (Sunny) - Tatianna, Tyden, Koa and Kyeson; Tammara (Kelly) - Kysen and Amirah; Tristan - Jayleigh and Justice; Chantel (Derrick); Kayla (Harold); and Chelsea (Branden) - Austin, Amira and Amaya; as well as siblings; Wayne (Marge), Donald, Doug, Darlene, Gary, Bonnie (Neil); sister in-law Darlene, sister in-law Jean (Doug); Fay, Thelma; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Jerry was predeceased by his parents Lester and Jane Kemp; parents-in-law’s Alex and Margaret Ferguson; loving wife, Gayle; brother Brian; nephew Darren; nephew Jake; niece Beverly; sister-in-law Joan (Bill) Dacey; and Tom Dacey.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of choice.
