Obituary of Sandra May Kraft
Our family was saddened to lose our beloved Sandra May Kraft (nee Antosh) on Wednesday, September 14, 2022. After a long and hard-fought battle with cancer she was ushered into heaven from Regina, SK, when she gladly traded an imperfect earthly body for a perfect heavenly one.
Sandra was born on July 8, 1963, to John and Ruth Antosh in Winnipeg, MB where she spent her childhood and later moved with her family to Regina and attended high school in Caronport, SK. She attended Nursing School at SIAST and then attended Canadian Bible College.
Nursing provided Sandie with an avenue to travel throughout the USA and led her to her ultimate destination in Palm Springs, California. She lived there for close to 30 years. She made lifelong friends there and enjoyed the warm weather and the beauty of the desert.
Everyone who knew Sandie knew her as loyal, energetic, captivating, and loving. Her laughter came easily even when laughing at herself. She was unafraid to try new things knowing that if she failed or looked silly, she would just laugh, and others would join in too. Her ability to make others feel loved and special was a unique gift. Sandie gave compliments genuinely, encouraged willingly and listened tirelessly. If you were someone she loved, you were very lucky indeed.
Sandie’s legacy was in her dogs. She rescued more dogs than can be counted, often the ones nobody else would take. Sandie was the ultimate dog-mom and gave them every advantage she could. And she did so humbly, not for praise but simply because they needed someone on their side, and that someone was Sandie.
Sandie will be missed by her mother Ruth Antosh; her beloved siblings, Linda Little and Dave Antosh (Kelly); and her nieces Lishelle Brunskill (Chad), Lindsey Hill (Cody), and Cherish Little. She was also loved by many great nieces and nephews who were grateful to share in the last rich weeks of her life in Regina.
Sandie taught us many lessons: to find happiness in all things, to forgive graciously, and to always smile, as she did every day.
But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.
