Lorenzo Lamberti 1933 – 2016 On Friday, January 15, 2016, Lorenzo Lamberti passed away, one week short of his 83rd birthday. He was born on January 21, 1933 in the village of Piandalegotti, nestled in the picturesque Apennine mountain range of northern Italy. He was predeceased by his parents Pietro and Ida (Siri) Lamberti, siblings Angelo Lamberti, Ezio (Elita) Lamberti, Elda (Dino) Trogi, Alberto Lamberti, and Domenica Sassatelli, and the mother of his children, Marianna Halina Lamberti. He is survived by his daughter Wanda Lamberti, son Lido Lamberti, granddaughters Amy (Keith) Banford and Loni Didkowski (Andrew Tillotson), and his sister Emilia (Ettore) Nardin. In Canada and the US, he is survived by nephews Paulo (Tena) Nardin, Eddy (Shannon) Nardin, Alberto (Elena) Nardin, and Richard (Michelle) Lamberti and their families. In Italy, he is survived by his brother-in-law Arrigo Sassatelli, nieces and nephews Enrica (Roberto), Mary (Gianfranco), Mirella, Angelo (Annarita), Chiara , Ivan (Simona) and their families. He is also survived by his close friend Mary Ann Jardine, and will be remembered by many other coffee and dance club friends and acquaintances. Lorenzo immigrated to Canada in 1956 and easily adapted to his new home by becoming an avid outdoor sportsman. He was a skilled marksman who spent countless days hunting, fishing, and ice fishing while exploring the vast terrain of Saskatchewan. He acquired an (over!) abundance of trophies in this regard, as well as for his precision in scoring repeated strikes as a competitive bowler. Most of all, Lorenzo loved to dance. He rarely missed any opportunity to attend events where he could spend an entire evening effortlessly floating across the dance floor to a lively polka, an Italian tango, a graceful waltz, or a jumping jive tune. A funeral mass will be held at Holy Child Roman Catholic Parish, 2636 7th Avenue East, Regina on Tuesday, January 19 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Arthritis Society, 202-2550 12th Avenue, Regina, SK, S4P 3X1.
