Norma Wallace February 13, 1925 – September 9, 2015 Norma was born on a farm near Saskatoon and grew up during the Depression years. The poverty she experienced as a child marked her for life. Following her graduation from Business College in Saskatoon, Norma worked at Federated Co-operatives Limited where she met Len Wallace. Married in 1949, they moved to Regina in 1960 where they raised three children together. In 1972 Norma began working for the Federal Government, advancing to the position of Saskatchewan Director of the New Horizons Program which funded projects for senior citizens across the province. Retiring in 1993, Norma volunteered with a number of organizations, in particular those working to reduce the impact of poverty on children and seniors. Norma was a skilled athlete, enjoying a variety of sports and excelling at softball, which she played into her late sixties. Repeatedly a Western Canadian Softball Campion, she was inducted into the Saskatchewan Sports Hall of Fame in 1989. Norma died peacefully at Regina Wascana Grace Hospice. Predeceased by husband Len; parents Rod and Magda Munro and siblings Evelyn, Margaret, Olive, Jack and infant twin brother Orval. Norma is survived by her children Patrick, Shawn and Sherry; grandchildren Danyelle, Will, Pip, Jason and Nick, and great granddaughter Hazel. At Norma’s request, no service will be held. Anyone wishing to do so may make a donation in her memory to the Alzheimer Society of Canada.
