Judith Darlene McKague

Judith Darlene (Gustafson) McKague, born September 27, 1951, passed away peacefully on February 18, 2018. Judy was predeceased by her parents Robert and Beatrice Gustafson and her beloved husband of 46 years, Don. She is survived by daughters Michelle; Christine (Aaron) Barlow; son Donald Jr; grandchildren Jayda (Ryan) Apperley; Isaiah Silljer; great grandchildren Nyxon and Finley Apperley; brother Bob (Loretta) Gustafson and sister Phyllis (Wally) Kaip. She is also survived by loving in-laws, nieces and nephews that were very special to her, and long-time friends. Judy was raised in Ceylon, SK and later moved to Regina where she and Don raised their family. Judy was a homemaker, daycare provider and a natural caregiver who devoted her life to taking care of others. She loved to garden, take long walks, write short stories and spend time with family. She cherished family gatherings in Ceylon where there was endless laughter, card-playing and Granny’s home cooking. Judy was strong in her faith and was a patient, kind and selfless woman who always put the needs of others before her own. In 2009 she was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease which changed her life and the lives of those who loved her. Although devastating, her illness taught us unconditional love, compassion and a strength we never knew possible. Judy had a heart of pure gold and will be missed beyond measure. She is now with Don who passed away on December 27, 2017 - Together Again, Never to Part.  Special thanks to the staff at Regina Pioneer Village for the loving care they have provided to Judy since she became a resident in 2014. A private family interment and celebration of life will be held at a later date. Friends so wishing may make donations in memoriam to the Alzheimer Society of Saskatchewan, #301-2550-12th Avenue, Regina, SK, S4P 3X1.
