Linda Kraft
February 5, 1935 - July 27, 2017
It is with heavy hearts and gratitude for her life that the family of Linda Kraft announces the passing of our beautiful and beloved Mom, Wife and Nana, on Thursday, July 27, 2017, lovingly surrounded by her family. Linda was born in Kirkfield Park, MB. She moved with her family as a young child to Togo and then Gorlitz, SK. Linda had to quit school in grade 8 to help care for their family because of Grandma's weak health. She never stopped caring for her family. Linda met her husband of 62 years, Les Kraft, at Annie and Leonard Larson's farm, the Ponderosa, near Kamsack. They married on September 4, 1955 and lived in Kamsack for several years until moving to Melville where they raised their family. Linda worked at Sears, Bo-Kay Florists and the Co-op Grocery store for many years. She was also a regular volunteer at the Zion Lutheran Church in Melville and sang in the church choir. After retiring she continued to work hard on a nearby farm making enormous delicious meals for the hired hands. Linda loved people and loved to visit. Everyone who met her was touched by her kindness. Entertaining company with good food, good fun and good conversation was guaranteed wherever Linda went. She'd often come to visit her kids with bread and bun pans in tow! But as much as she loved her children, nothing could compare to the sparkle in her eyes when she spoke to her grandchildren. In 2009 Linda and Les moved to a condo in Regina to be near their children. They soon made good friends at the condo and spent many a late evening entertaining and playing cards and other games. Her sharp mind and memory never failed. In the summer of 2016 they moved to a care home, Coteau Range Manor in Avonlea and in January 2017 moved to William Albert House in Emerald Park where Linda kept an ever watchful eye on Les until she was taken to hospital and left us on the wings of an angel. Among her last words next to "I love you all" were "Les, listen to the nurses". Linda leaves to mourn her husband, Les Kraft; children Daryl (Darla Pinder) Kraft, Gary (Carol) Kraft and Tammy (Garry) Hubick; grandchildren Bree-Anne (Barrett Stang) Hubick, Bryce Hubick, Jordan Kraft and his girlfriend, Jesse Van Eaton and Jonathon Kraft and his girlfriend Emma Johnson; brother Ken (Bev) Weitzel (Sherwood Park, AB); sister-in-law Lynn (Bruce) Merwart (Dundas, ON) and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her Dad and Mom, Alex and Annie Weitzel; brother and sister-in-law Reinhold and Marie Weitzel; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Cliff and Verna Kraft and June (Kraft) and Gill Schnieder. Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday August 3, 2017 from Mount Olive Lutheran Church, 2015-4th Ave. N., Regina, SK. Donations in Linda's name may be made to Diabetes Canada.
