It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father and grandfather, Harry James Burghardt, who passed away on Sunday, June 25, 2017, at the age of 78. He was predeceased by his loving wife Annabelle; his parents John and Catherine Burghardt; his sisters and their husbands, Annie (Ernie) Dacey, and Elizabeth (Max) Achtzener; his brother John Burghardt; his brothers and sisters in law Joe Kubian, Leonard Hoffart, Helen and Hugh Rolufs and Emile Hoffort as well as numerous beloved nieces and nephews. Harry is survived by his loving daughter and son-in-law Catherine and Chris Kainz; grandsons Christian and Cayden Kainz and his two good friends and sisters-in-law Josie Kubian and Frances Hoffart.  Harry also leaves behind much loved extended family and many dear friends. Harry was a caring, dedicated and well-respected teacher within the Regina Catholic Schools System for over 30 years. He is fondly remembered by all as a friendly person who loved people. He always had a story to share or a listening ear to lend. Harry also had a great love for music. He played many instruments and he was always willing to share his talents with others by participating in numerous musical groups and choirs. He also enjoyed listening to many types of music loudly and it was not unusual to hear music such as Country and Western, Gospel, Classical, Bluegrass, and Opera, wafting from Harry’s home through an open window. Harry fought many health battles and the family would like to thank all the medical staff who cared for him over the years. A Funeral Mass will be Celebrated at 10:00am on Friday, June 30, 2017 at St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church, 100 Argyle St., Regina, SK with Father J.B. Okai as Celebrant. Interment will follow at Silton Cemetary. In lieu of flowers a donation may be made to a charity of choice in Harry’s memory.
