Obituary of Jeanne Triffo

Please share a memory of Jeanne to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Jeanne Triffo Jeanne passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 16, 2016 with her family by her side. Jeanne left this world to join her parents, Frank and Anne Uhl, her brother Allan, brothers-in-law Len, Rynold, Art and Allen, nephew Roger and great niece Carissa, in the Heavens above. Jeanne will be remembered by her husband of 47 years, Fred, son Terry and his wife Judy and their son Daniel, who was Jeanne’s greatest treasure. Also, her siblings Jim (Maryann), Larry (Sharon), Don (Trudy), Jo-Anne (Roy), Jackie (Wayne) and Diane (Gerry). Jeanne and her siblings were blessed to have a Bonus Mom, Evelyn Mohr, who loved her as her own, as well as Bonus Sisters, Sharon (Wally) and Bev. Jeanne will be missed by her in-laws Agnes (Ron), Barry (Jean), Rodney, Peggy and sisters-in-law Charlotte and Sandy. She will also be missed by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and so many friends. Jeanne travelled all over Canada, having many fun times in her early adulthood with Jim and making friends all along the way. Those adventures could still bring a smile to her face 50 years later. She did have two particularly special places over the years. One was the North, where they lived in Yellowknife for 18 years, making many friends, raising Terry, running a business, sponsoring and being closely involved with their softball team, the Tri-Kleen Silver Bullets. Her other special place was J’s Lotto Luck, where she had started out working with her brother-in-law Gerry, then bought the business with her sister Jackie. With over a decade in the lottery business, working so closely with the public, a lot more lasting friendships were formed. Jeanne was retired for 4 years and enjoyed having the time to help out family members in every way she could. She devoted many hours to her yard and loved her flowers. Jeanne had a wicked sense of humor, which she maintained to the very end. She loved playing cards, especially Wizzy, and could go on for hours. She was also an avid fan of the Saskatchewan Roughriders and the Toronto Blue Jays. She was diagnosed with cancer in April of 2015, which she had radiation for. In 3 months she was in remission. When it recurred she gave in gracefully and felt quite well right up to the day she died. At Jeanne’s request, there will be a celebration of her life for family and friends at Jackie and Wayne’s house, 2119 Edgar St. It will be a come and go gathering for socializing, laughter and dainties on Friday, Oct. 21 from 2-4. In lieu of flowers, if anyone wishes, they can make a donation in her name to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of their choice. Private interment at a later date.
